Formula Used
Time (months) = (Target Length - Current Length) / Adjusted Growth Rate
Where:
- Adjusted Growth Rate = Base Growth Rate × Hair Care Factor × Hair Type Factor
- Hair Care Factor = 0.7 + (Hair Care Quality ÷ 100) × 0.6
- Hair Type Factor = 1.0 (Straight), 0.95 (Wavy), 0.9 (Curly), 0.85 (Coily)
Example Calculation
Real-World Scenario:
Sarah wants to grow her hair from shoulder length (12 inches) to waist length (24 inches). She has wavy hair and takes good care of it.
Given:
- Current Length = 12 inches
- Target Length = 24 inches
- Growth Rate = 0.5 inches/month
- Hair Type = Wavy
- Hair Care Quality = 80%
Calculation:
Hair Care Factor = 0.7 + (80 ÷ 100) × 0.6 = 1.18
Hair Type Factor = 0.95 (for wavy hair)
Adjusted Growth Rate = 0.5 × 1.18 × 0.95 = 0.56 inches/month
Time = (24 - 12) ÷ 0.56 = 21.4 months
Result: It will take approximately 21.4 months (1 year and 9.4 months) to grow from shoulder length to waist length.
